How is your financial health?

I am beginning to see the economic impact of of tariffs in the grocery store and stuff I buy from online websites like Amazon. Suddenly and almost overnight, I am seeing my cost of simple goods and services going up. Likewise, when I’m shopping at my favorite food stores I am seeing the cost of some items creeping up 10% to 40% more depending upon the type of food product. Yikes,.. it got me to thinking about how tariffs are squeezing the small business owner and medium sized business that have helped fuel our economy since the 1990’s? While I can see the US stock market is fluctuating but trending upward, the US economy is a puzzle of uncertainty due to the long term impacts of tariffs right now and it makes me worry that I should be doing a better job of paying attention to what’s going on in the global economy.

What should TikTok be used for?

TikTok is incredibly versatile and can be used for many things beyond just entertainment, marketing, influencers, and education. I’m glad that it will remain in the United States instead of being banned but for a while it looked like the U.S. legal system was going to prevent the TikTok platform from continuing. TikTok’s broad range of uses continues to evolve, so it’s exciting to see how people find new ways to engage with it! Hopefully, it will never be used to insight a war or engage in covert government espionage.

Lately I have been thinking about ways I can use TikTok to communicate better to an audience? It’s amazing how many people are using TikTok around the world and it touches so many lives. Let’s hope that TikTok can be used for good and people can think of better ways to spread good news around the world.

Bird Protection Laws in the U.S.

Many bird species are protected in the United States by federal laws due to their conservation status and the need to preserve biodiversity. The primary law governing the protection of birds in the U.S. is the Migratory Bird Treaty Act (MBTA), which was enacted in 1918. This act makes it illegal to hunt, capture, kill, or harm migratory birds, their nests, or eggs without a permit. The act covers most migratory bird species in North America, including many native birds, and is enforced by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS). Read more
